High Point University is seeking a full time Women’s Leadership Program Associate, dedicated to working with students while fulfilling administrative roles associated with the Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship Program, including the Sompo management program (SWIM), and the Strickland Women’s Leadership Council (SWLC). High Point University’s Women’s LIFT Fellowship Program is a highly selective, innovative experience designed to educate and empower college women to learn about themselves, understand others, be civically engaged, and maximize their personal and professional success. LIFT students receive a scholarship renewable annually based on academic performance and continued participation in the program. The Strickland Women’s Leadership Council was established and founded on the principle that empowering women to be strong, independent leaders is an important life skill. As The Premier Life Skills University, HPU is committed to ensuring its women students are provided with the support, opportunities, and resources to learn strong leadership skills. The Strickland Women’s Leadership Council helps to fulfill that commitment with the development of seminars and programs by successful women who are leaders within their own communities and industries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in leadership studies or a related field from an accredited institution
Experience and Training
One to two years of leader or leadership development experience, preferably experience in institutions of higher education and developing college/university-level students
Certifications in leadership assessments are a plus

Project management and event planning
Knowledge of leadership and leadership development theory and application, particularly with college/university-level students (women students especially) and in preparing them for the professional world after graduation
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport not only with students, but also staff, faculty, and community and professional leaders
Outstanding professional communication and writing skills
Strong technology and social media skills
Strong presentation and facilitation skills for small groups and large audiences
Familiarity with Blackboard software system preferred
Ability to work well in a assorted environment; Strong student advocacy with proven ability to work with a assorted population
Proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, Outlook, and databases

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists the Founding Director, Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship Program in planning, implementing, and managing programs, leadership development opportunities and experiences for the Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship and Sompo SWIM programs
Performs management, scheduling, and communication with the Strickland Women’s Leadership Council
Works with the Founding Director, Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship Program, colleagues in the Office of Advancement, and the leaders of the Strickland Women’s Leadership Council to plan and execute all fall and spring council meetings and the annual Elizabeth Miller Strickland Women’s Leadership Summit
Administers the Strickland Trailblazer Awards and other award programs
Assists the Director with the LIFT fellowship course, including helping students in the Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship program with the exploration of their leadership in the classroom and through individual one-on-one appointments, advising sessions and in group/team settings, facilitating lessons, lectures, and experiences, coordinating speakers, and assessing students’ engagement
Serves as instructor of record for one women’s leadership development course (4 credits) per year
Manages mentoring opportunities for students in the Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship and SWIM programs. This includes mentoring with the SWLC members, Sompo mentors, and other women leaders, and peer mentors within the Strickland Women’s LIFT fellowship
Assists the Founding Director, Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship Program in recruitment, selection, and retention efforts for the Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship and Sompo SWIM programs. This includes:
Participating in and coordinating representation for the Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship and SWIM programs at High Point University Open House and Admission Events, Innovation Summits, and similar opportunities. Represent HPU as needed during special events, including Family Weekends, Orientation, and Early Registration that may occur on nights and/or weekends
Reviewing program applications, and contributing to the decision-making for LIFT fellowship and SWIM program offers
Managing and delivering welcome letters and expectation forms
Monitoring students’ qualifications for program continuation, advising students, sending appropriate notification of status and warnings, etc., with the goal of encouraging students’ academic and personal success, and continuation in the Women’s LIFT Fellowship/SWIM programs
Promotes and manages communication regarding the Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship and Sompo SWIM programs, and LIFT/SWIM students and alumnae, in regular email communications and appropriate social media, and oversee these communication media on behalf of the Women’s LIFT Fellowship. Assist with the marketing of the various leadership programs through the development of flyers, brochures, press releases, representing the office at various functions, and emails
Be responsive to emails, queries, questions, and concerns, from Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship and SWIM students pertaining to all aspects of the program, including grading of assignments
Assists the Founding Director, Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship Program in overseeing a campus advisory board for the Women’s LIFT Fellowship
Engages Strickland Women’s LIFT/SWIM alumnae by facilitating mentoring and speaking opportunities, invitations to special events (e.g., the annual Women’s Leadership Summit, and the LIFT year-end awards program, etc.) and encourage meaningful relationships with current Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship students that will be mutually beneficial
Helps the Founding Director, Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship Program in managing the collection, organization, and display of a wide range of leadership knowledge, opportunities, and resources, from employers, educational institutions, business, industry, and community
Provides high quality, impactful coaching, and personal development to students in the Strickland Women’s Fellowship program
Fosters civic mindedness and engagement by facilitating service opportunities for all Women’s LIFT students: freshman through senior year.
Ability to work effectively with all facets of the university, including a diverse student population, faculty in all departments, staff, and other administrators
Establishes and strengthens relationships with community partners locally, domestically, and internationally who want to be involved in the program through networking events, mentoring, and coaching opportunities, presentations and talks, career/organization treks, and the like
Plans, organizes, coordinates, and oversees social and experiential events and programs from beginning to end, including planning, budgeting, and other essential administrative work
Assists with the development of presentation and programs for the Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship and SWIM programs
Mentors, coaches, and supervises student workers
Coach students on how to develop and leverage a leadership brand through professional resumes, LinkedIn profiles, interviews, and networking
At appropriate times, provide longer-term career and professional development coaching in one-on-one conversations and group settings
Contribute to university initiatives and committee meetings as needed
Develop programming that strengthens students’ preparation to be leaders at High Point University and beyond
Analyze data about use, interest, and value of presentations, one-on-one appointments, and programs for the purposes of reporting data/statistics for both internal and external audiences; contribute to the compilation and analysis of statistical and evaluative data
Maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, faculty, students’ parents, co-workers, and others
Other duties as assigned by the Founding Director, Strickland Women’s LIFT Fellowship Program
