At Women in Motion, we place women's voices at the heart of everything we do. We believe in truly listening to the women in our community and understanding what they feel is necessary to advance in their personal and professional lives. Our annual themes are guided by their needs and aspirations, ensuring our women's personal & professional development programs remain relevant and impactful. It's not about us; it's about the incredible women we serve who shape our direction and elevate themselves and those around them. They are the ones who inspire us and steer us where we go next.
Guided by Your Voices, Shaping Our Focus
In 2022, we focused on the 8 Dimensions of Wellness, ensuring a holistic approach to health and well-being. In 2023, we centered our efforts on Confidence & Courage, encouraging women to "unmute" themselves and step into their power. For 2024, we emphasized Wellness, with a theme of “Rest so We Can Run,” acknowledging the importance of self-care in achieving our goals. Looking ahead to 2025, we are excited to announce that our focus will be on Leadership & Communication, empowering women to lead with clarity and purpose.
Our Programs & Events: Three Key Areas of Impact
Our programs are thoughtfully designed to support women in the following areas: Personal & Professional Development, Mentorship Development, and Networking.
Personal & Professional Development: Our workshops and annual Summit are designed to enhance personal and professional skills, empowering women to confidently step into leadership roles in every aspect of their lives.
Mentorship: Through their active involvement, the Women in Motion community supports each other and fosters a robust network of collaboration and growth. Our Kitty Congdon Mentoring Series plays a pivotal role in this, designed to elevate female leaders by delving into the core aspects of mentorship development.
Networking: Our networking events and meet-ups are designed to strengthen connections and foster a supportive community among our members and guests.
Women’s Personal & Professional Development Programs in High Point
GWEN (Gathering Women through Education and Networking): Named in honor of Gwen Brayton, whose life was tragically cut short by glioblastoma, this program celebrates her dedication to family and education. GWEN offers workshops to strengthen women's education and skills to enhance, organize, and succeed in their lives.
Each year, GWEN focuses on different themes to address the evolving needs of our community. In 2021, we emphasized "Live More by Doing Less" to promote efficiency and well-being. In 2022, we tackled Social Media, helping women enhance their business and personal LinkedIn profiles. In 2023, we centered on Financial Wellness, offering workshops on finances at various life stages and small business finance. For 2024, our theme is Emotional Wellness, focusing on personal growth and burnout in the fall.
Women's Summit: This transformative, day-long event is dedicated to empowering women to reach new heights in their personal and professional lives. The summit features inspiring keynote speakers, interactive sessions, and meaningful networking opportunities. It encourages women to envision their full potential and take actionable steps toward achieving their most ambitious goals. Since our inaugural Women's Summit in 2022, which welcomed 125 women, the event has experienced remarkable growth. In 2023, attendance increased to 176 women; in 2024, it reached an impressive 250—a growth of 100%. This summit has become a highly sought-after experience, selling out each year. The growth of the summit has enabled us to bring nationally recognized speakers to the High Point area, including renowned experts like Tanya Dalton, Rachel Druckenmiller, and Jennifer Pharr Davis. Women leave the summit each year feeling empowered, inspired, and connected, making it a highlight of our annual calendar.
